Farewell flight of Air France Airbus A380
Written by Karlo Mudri.
After a little more than 11 years of service, French national carrier Air France (AF / AFR), a member of the Skyteam association, is retiring 9 Airbus 380 from its fleet. An Airbus A380 with reg. F-HPJH and a special call sign AF380, did a farewell flight in honor of the years and destinations served by this aircraft.
The flight will last about 2 hours and will take place over France. The flight will be attended by the directors of Air France and KLM, as well as employees of the company who were closely connected with the aircraft, ie pilots, cabin crew, aircraft technicians and other special guests.
Although the original plan for this aircraft was to retire in 2022, the Coronavirus Crisis prompted them to retire the aircraft earlier, due to the lack of need for such a big passenger capacity and its inefficiency compared to smaller aircraft.
After retirement, Air France's fleet will consist of A320 series aircraft, A330, A350 and Boeing 777 and 787.
